This article examines the meaning, historical foundations, and
contemporary significance of national harmony as one of the
fundamental pillars of the stability and endurance of the Mongolian
state. Drawing upon Mongolian historical sources, philosophical
traditions, and the teachings of Chinggis Khan, the study highlights the
enduring value of social cohesion, mutual respect, and solidarity in
maintaining national unity. The author argues that in the context of
democracy, a market economy, political pluralism, social
stratification, and increasing diversity of interests, strengthening a
culture of harmony and mutual understanding has become an
important prerequisite for sustainable national development and
security. Particular attention is devoted to the institution of friendship
and companionship among Chinggis Khan and his loyal companions,
which is interpreted as a historical source of Mongolian traditions of
unity and collective responsibility. The article further discusses
contemporary challenges to national cohesion, including political
polarization, regionalism, ethnic misconceptions, and social
inequality, and proposes policy directions for reinforcing national
solidarity and social trust in Mongolia.
