Shihihutug hornets basketball team

Brief

The Shihihutug Hornets basketball club, founded in the 2020-2021 academic year, has forged its identity through perseverance and dedication. In its inaugural year, the team faced challenges as the global pandemic disrupted plans, preventing participation in the 2021-2022 “Student League” as a university team. Despite these setbacks, the men’s team secured a special position, while the women’s team clinched the runner-up title in the Umnogovi Province basketball tournament during the student’s winter vacation.

Undeterred by the initial hurdles, the club persisted in regular training, gaining valuable experience in the 2021-2022 “Student League” and improving its performance. The subsequent year saw the Hornets participating for the third time in the 2022-2023 “Student League,” achieving a commendable 6th place in the elimination round. In the ongoing 2023-2024 academic year, the club continues to successfully compete in regular season games.

Comprising one coach and twelve dedicated players, the Shihihutug Hornets prioritize success through rigorous training sessions conducted 3-4 times a week.

Enrollment

Membership to the Shihihutug Hornets team is open to students who voluntarily participate in the basketball section and the club.
