On November 14, 2024, Shihihutug University organised the 16th International Scientific Conference on the theme “Constitutional Democracy and Comparative Law Study.” The conference was held as part of the “Building Capacity in Comparative and EU Law in HEIs of Mongolia (COMP-LAW)” project, which is being jointly implemented by the National University of Mongolia, Shihihutug University, University of Milan (Italy), and University of Normandy (France), with funding from the European Union.
The conference was officially opened by prof. D. Lundeejantsan (Sc.D.), the Chair of the Academic Council at Shihihutug University. In his opening remark, he highlighted the importance of the conference and its role in fostering academic collaboration and the exchange of knowledge.
Additionally, prof. L.Ölziisaikhan (Ph.D), a Member of the Constitutional Court of Mongolia, as well as prof. Antonia Baraggia, the COMP-LAW Project coordinator and Professor of Law at the University of Milan, addressed the attendees, offering their best wishes for a successful conference.
This year’s conference is especially significant, as it coincides with the 100th anniversary of Mongolia’s Proclamation of the Republic and the adoption of the First Constitution. A total of over 40 works were submitted by researchers from Mongolia, United States, Russia, South Korea, Hungary and Turkey. After a competitive selection process, 9 works were chosen for present at the conference.
The presented works from researchers focused on the pressing issues of constitutional democracy, the legal regulation of these issues, and the experiences and case studies from various countries. Several important ideas and recommendations related to constitutional democracy and the protection of human rights were discussed.
The monographs presented at the 16th International Scientific Conference will be published for public access.
